The Ghana Education Service\u2019s (GES) list of less-endowed secondary schools provides the primary source of&nbsp;potential beneficiaries.&nbsp;The list includes data on students admitted to either the University of Ghana, UCC&nbsp;or KNUST, including their secondary&nbsp;schools\u2019&nbsp;regional affiliations, aggregate obtained in WASSCE, and program of study.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Each year, the initiative&nbsp;aims to&nbsp;select10 students, with one student from each of the ten regions of Ghana. However, due to the recent creation of new regions,&nbsp;plans are&nbsp;being initiated to&nbsp;select one student from all sixteen regions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Beneficiaries&nbsp;have&nbsp;sometimes&nbsp;been recommended by the Board of Trustees or have received assistance following appeals made through social media.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>LIST OF CRITERIA<\/strong><strong>&nbsp;FOR SELECTION OF<\/strong><strong>&nbsp;<\/strong><strong>PROSPECTIVE BENEFICIARIES<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">1.\u00a0Admission\u00a0into\u00a0any\u00a0public university\u00a0in Ghana\u00a0(preferably University of Ghana and KNUST):\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>University of Ghana\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>University of Cape Coast<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>University of Mines and Technology<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>University of Professional Studies<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>University for Development Studies<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>University of Health and Allied Sciences, Hohoe<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Kumasi Technical University<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Ho Technical University<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>University of Energy and Natural Resources<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Cape Coast Technical University<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Takoradi Technical University<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Sunyani Technical University<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>University of Media Arts and Communication<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Simon\u00a0Diedong\u00a0Dombo University of Business and Integrated Development Studies<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Presbyterian University<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">2.\u00a0Selection of students should be limited to students who gained admission into the university from the Ghana Education Service\u2019s (GES) approved list of less-endowed schools\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">3.&nbsp;One student each to be selected from all the sixteen regions in Ghana<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">4.&nbsp;JHS attended&nbsp;by student should be used to determine the region they reside in&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">5.&nbsp;A system to determine the student is in&nbsp;dire need&nbsp;of financial support<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">6.&nbsp;Show admission letter as proof of admission<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">7.&nbsp;Only applicants with regular student status can proceed to next level of shortlisting<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">8.&nbsp;Fee-paying students are not allowed to advance to the next stage of selection process<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Beneficiaries of the TSSI are selected through a rigorous process.
